Madison has many active and involved citizens and neighborhood associations who undertake fundraising efforts to improve parks within their local area. These citizens enlist support from neighbors and other local resources. Often these are specific small projects to compliment planned improvements scheduled by the Madison Parks Division.
The Madison Parks Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and serves as a valuable resource for neighborhood park projects. As a tax-exempt repository for the funds raised for projects, we promptly send thank
you letters to donors for tax purposes. All project donations are allocated to the specific improvements and additionally, MPF can serve as a quick and easy-to-use resource for donors who wish to contribute online.
One of the ways the Foundation supports neighborhood groups working to make improvements in their park is through a link to our PayPal account. Online giving has become a very effective and low-cost tool with discounted fees for non-profits. As a 501(c)3 we are happy to provide our an online link to aid in fundraising for a low fee. If you’d like to consider this for your park project, look in our Fundraising Help section for details and PDFs of our agreement forms.
Additionally, we welcome any park project to post a landing page under this Current Projects section. Here you can post a brief overview and link to your own website if you have one, or if you haven’t developed a site, link your donors and supporters to this page.
If you would like guidance or assistance in forming an organization to improve a neighborhood park, we can help. Please review the Parks & Fundraising Guide or How Madison Parks Foundation Can Help to learn more information in order to begin your neighborhood park project.
