Friends of Eken Park Playground

Community members aim to raise $8,000 to build a natural play area in addition to the playground equipment the city is replacing this summer. This would pay for logs, stumps, and boulders. Natural play areas have many benefits such as: opportunities for children of all skill and activity levels, encourages imaginative play through a variety of sensory stimulation, and allows for open-ended play and more social negotiation. The Eken Park Neighborhood Association has committed to donating $1,000 to jumpstart the project. Won’t you join in? Please see ekenpark.blog and ekenparknaturalplay.fun for more information.

The Greentree Neighborhood Association in cooperation with the Madison Parks Foundation has established two Ash Tree Preservation Funds to preserve ash trees in Norman Clayton Park and Sunridge Park in the Greentree neighborhood. The funds raised will be used to provide emerald ash borer treatments for these trees through the City of Madison Adopt-a-Park-Tree program.
